Hiking enthusiasts:

Vannes and its region will seduce you with its coastal paths and discovery trails in the heart of nature. It is undoubtedly on foot that you will best discover the Gulf of Morbihan, classified among the most beautiful bays in the world.

Around this small sea of 11,500 ha in which sea water and fresh water mix, 180 km of marked trails dot the coast and the islands to allow the discovery of all the secrets of a unique ecosystem and an exceptional heritage with Le GR® 34: the Gulf Tour.

3 minutes from our rental:

The GR® 34 - BADEN-LARMOR BADEN section

We are here at the geographical center of the Gulf, halfway between the rivers Auray to the west and Noyalo to the east. True "key to the Gulf", Larmor Baden is an active marina with an important oyster farming center since it is one of the first in southern Brittany.

The GR® 34 - LE BONO-PLOUGOUMELEN section

The 'forban' is given to a type of fishing rowboat built in Bono until the middle of the 20th century.

The "Notre Dame de Becquerel" which still sails today, is a faithful replica. Competition between fishermen was fierce and the term "forban" was intended as much for the 400 "Bonoviste" crews as for their boats. Their activity ranged from angling to dredging wild oysters. Very early on, they specialized in collecting oyster spat, which they sold to their fellow oyster farmers. The Bono river, which is particularly deep, hardly lends itself to the installation of parks. The quays and cabins still bear witness to the intense activity that reigned there in the spring.

The GR® 34 - BADEN section

The opening onto the Gulf gives a temperate climate to the town of Baden, mild in winter, pleasant in summer, conducive to varied and specific vegetation: maritime pines, oaks, chestnut trees, cypresses, mimosas ... The town has many megalithic sites as well as some twenty manors and churches dating from the 16th and 18th centuries.

The GR® 34 - ARRADON section

The Arradonnaise bank of the Vincin river is steeper than the Vannes bank.

Maritime pines and brooms cling to the rock, leaving cultivated land a few distances away. Until the goulet de Conleau, opposite the "pink house" of Port Anna, begins the succession of beautiful properties  which border the coast of Arradon. The landscapes are made up of parks and beautiful gardens bordering small beaches bordered by a low wall on which it is possible to walk.

Go fishing on foot

The high tides are the occasion to attend an impressive spectacle while oxygenating you on the beaches of the  Gulf of Morbihan. It's an ideal family outing. But practice responsible fishing, especially return the stones that you have returned exactly as you found them. Also pay attention to the sizes of your shells to respect the environment and promote reproduction.
